As always, thanks for the clarity and transparency on the issues NCDOJ are tackling...and by all that's holy, I don't see how (or why) all politicians and government executives aren't doing something similar to your updates. It's such a common-sense approach to keeping constituents informed and involved. Keep it up, Mr. A.G.!

Hi, Jeff, thanks for this brief, newsy update about the good work y'all are doing for us! I have a specific question about the Executive Orders targeting DEIA initiatives, and banning language from federal websites including health and education websites. Don't those directives violate civil rights legislations, and the First Amendment? They seem like a kind of drastic repression that can't possibly be legal in a constitutional democracy. I'm wondering what the conversation is about addressing these issues, among the AG's you are working with?

So glad you are here. One major disconnect I am seeing with our representatives and most assuredly our state GA is the relationship between the federal freeze on R&D funds and economic growth/stability of NC. We are a knowledge economy and through CHIPS attempted to extend the Knowledge- and Technology Intensive (KTI) jobs/workers to other areas of NC (Wilmington, Charlotte, Winston Salem, Morganton/Conover). Our representatives are not getting that the destruction of R&D that starts with universities impacts the entire economy. We are already seeing industry layoffs. So communicating that your lawsuit was in defense of our state economy needs to be made loud, clear and often. And that anyone who is not loudly protesting the freezing of federal funds is knowingly and purposefully damaging the NC economy and its people. It's not about scientists and universities. It is about industry, sales and all the others sectors in our state - sectors like construction, service, accounting etc..

Thank you for all you are doing for NC. Your updates do help ease the mind. However, while it’s nice to hear that you are able to sit down with those on the other side of the aisle, I for one do not feel the same!

We have two useless trumpers in the Senate that are hiding. Maybe they think they won’t be held accountable! You can write to them to them all day and you’ll get a form letter back that is total BULLSHIT! It is clear that they are ALL IN on trumps coup! While that’s not surprising coming from the gun toting ted budd, I did have slightly higher expectations for tillis!

They are both corrupt and complicit. I will vote for my dog before I vote for them.

I echo all the positive comments made here. I feel safe and secure with you in the AG office. I know you will do all within your power to make things better for us in NC and in the US. I too have written our GOP Senators and I get letters back, but essentially they say "I will keep your views in mine when I vote." Yea, right! I don't believe it.

You sound incredibly partisan to me. So much for working with the “ other side.”

What gives you that impression? Ags are like umpires-they call them as they see them. Or is your comment only directed at Democratic Ags? I'm sure you took the same stance when Republican Ags filed multiple lawsuits against the Biden and Obama administrations.

What is partisan about his message? He addressed the constitutionality of the issues and how they affect Americans, one executive order specifically hurts North Carolinians. He is attempting to meet with members of both parties. What is your problem?

Jeff is bending over backwards to be non-partisan. Anyone whose mind is the least hit open can seebthat.

I am in your corner (and you must often be feeling cornered) and very grateful for your sense of ethical and moral responsibility to your constituents, even those who are so quick to believe the blather coming our way from the current administration. Thank you for your stamina in rejecting the "lock step" mentality that could propel us right back to the 1930s. My only question is this: with the millions of dollars coming in to protect and preserve and further enable greed and hatred, is there really any difference our dollars can make? What would those donations be used toward? And IF money/donations make the difference, do we stand a chance?

Just leaving my comment, that AG Jackson went to a meeting with NC legislature and reported on the issues needing further discussion, and also the issues which await decision by court. No doors slammed, but the status as of the day he wrote the post here. Are you looking for a reason to argue?

So what does "So much for working with the “ other side.” Mean?

Certainly not an opening gambit to doing anything. More like a slammed door.
