Hi, I think you should run for president someday. You’re the only Congress person I can think of that keeps people informed on a regular basis with regular normal language and Goodwill. Thank you so much from a liberal Democrat in California.!
Hi Jeff...thanks for all the updates from the Hill this year, and my wife and I would really like to attend the virtual session on the 28th (our 27th anniversary!).
My only hesitation is that you've set it up under the purview of ActBlue. I know you have to use their services to streamline fund-raising, and I know those of us who have concerns over how ActBlue uses our information for other campaigns complicates the picture.
The FastAction alternative was a great solution to those concerns. I was able to set up recurring contributions, and they've not sent a single spam message. Is there any way FA could be used to pay for tickets to the virtual event? I realize there's almost no time to make any changes/additions to the event logistics, so maybe for the next one (I'd hope there is a next one)?
Wishing you and the family the merriest of Christmases, and I hope you're able to catch your breath for a few days!
I found that ActBlue used my info to solicit contributions to other Democratic candidates around the country (not just in my jurisdiction or state). There's probably a way to opt out, but I never found it, and wound up basically blocking all ActBlue emails...another pain in the tookas.
Jeff's AG campaign heard my and others' requests for an alternative way to support him, and started sending links to FastAction, another fundraising clearinghouse that doesn't seem intent on spamming me with solicitations about which I have no interest. There are links at the end of his recent newsletters for both AB and FA. It's good to have options!
Move On uses Fast Action. I have tried to keep it all in one place so I know where I'm at, so I have to give to them separately. I'll call Act Blue t find out how to deal with this. They straightened out something for me a few years ago. I was wondering why I was getting so many of the same over and over.
I’m with you. Actblue has been convenient for me but the amount of political email has killed my inbox. And I get somewhere between 10 and 15 texts per day asking for donations. I want to donate to DNC candidates (not limited to just NC) but y’all are killing me. Every week or two I spend entering “STOP” to the texts and “unsubscribe” to the emails but that lasts maybe a week or two and then it’s back to being swamped in requests for donations.
And for any campaign staff reading this: if I get 15 requests for money a day I don’t give to any of them.
Sorry about your Act Blue experience. When I unsubscribe for the many requests, it as been honored. I'm with you on "15 requests a day". I have unsubscribed a lot. It only takes 30/40 seconds......and, as I said, it works for me. Good luck and Happy New Year
And I hope you become the Attorney General of North Carolina. We need more people like you who uphold the laws of our country and have integrity and ethics.
Please don't leave Ukraine hopeless at the Putin's hand.. Ukrainian army is fighting against russian's asassins for Freedom and Democracy in the Whole World...
Jeff, it’s heartening to read what you have to say. You have many dedicated fans. I think like me they instantly saw the good sense of having you be our next Attorney General.
I think this is a great idea. I recently donated to you and while I understand this is about fund raising, can we still attend this virtual event without another donation?
I believe I’ve sent a contribution to you already.
I’m am from Pennsylvania not North Carolina. And so, I will not directly benefit from supporting you to become AG.
The way your post read, it was to thank us for our support and interest in you, which was the right note to hit.
So, I clicked on the RSVP.
I was looking forward to the event.
But in keeping with the season...”What to my wondering eyes appear”...not Santa Claus and eight tiny reindeer... but rather a price list for tickets to attend.
It showed me who you are. This was not going to be a thank you for your support. It was a way to raise money.
I am disappointed but not surprised...just another Bill Clinton at work.
I’m recently retired and figuring out how to live on my social security and retirement funds. When working I had a really nice paycheck and made donations to worthy organizations and politicians I trusted. I can understand fund-raising and I will be donating again along the way. Could you add another category that is more affordable?
I want you to represent all of us as you are the most honest critical thinking politician I have seen through my many years.
I would love to hear you, and am already a contributor. I wish you would make this event free just to spread the word and let people meet you. I will be making further contributions, but this seems kinda sleazy to me.
Jeff Jackson you are a breath of fresh air! In all my years of following candidates and voting, never once has any member of the U.S. Congress ever made an effort to explain how the system works. Thanks so much for your informative updates. Stay true to your ethics and the very best of success.
What a shame that you have not talked about Israel's genocide of the Palestinians in Gaza. I guess you cannot talk about it even you are a " NEUTRAL " congressman because you are afraid of AIPAC.
America with most of its Commanders of Chief Presidents waged war in the Middle East except President Carter who could have, but he did not. How many countries have to be destroyed and how many civilians have to suffer from the USA misguided foreign policy?

Hello Jeff, I've reviewed other comments (up to an hour since your posting) and hope you'll address the useful suggestions. I have another one: Please consider making recordings of your zoom sessions available for later viewing. Of course, also, if possible, create location-based email groups to enable timely notifications prior to any of your personal appearances. Thank you, Gary (Chapel Hill).
You may have a limit of 100 people on Zoom. I don't know how to increase that number but I know that I have tried to attend Zoom meetings I really wanted to hear and was unable to because 100 people were logged in. Just a heads-up. Great newsletter.
Happy you were received well in WNC. MANY people here who deserve to know you better and increase support for the campaign. But mostly they should learn how genuine and straight talking you are, that you want what is best in NC for the people, not the Corporate racy or the Christian Nationalist movement.

My wife and I totally agree; he should run for President sometime in the future.

Tell me more Stuart. All my stuff is ActBlue.

Thanks for getting back to me.

ActBlue has also been exposed with money-laundering type activity coming from donors that actually did not donate.
Yes, I've heard. Sharing doner info to othe sites as well. Gotta investigate FastAction. It will be a long process to change over.

That’s a republican/putin thing; hanging Ukraine out to dry while holding immigrants hostage. Unforgivable mess.

“All funds raised will support our campaign for Attorney General”
It’s said what the deal was CLEARLY in the invitation.
@jeffjacksonnc uh oh - what say you sir?
I would love to hear you, and am already a contributor. I wish you would make this event free just to spread the word and let people meet you. I will be making further contributions, but this seems kinda sleazy to me.
“Ambiguous” perhaps. Sleazy?
Jeff Jackson is about the least sleazy guy in politics these days.
I agree with you. Poor choice of words - maybe “offputting”. I was just disturbed by the requirement to pay.
Wish I still lived in NC, so that I could vote for you, sir!

Will you be recording and posting this event? As others have said, I also have an unavoidable conflict.
