You seem to be swimming in a flood of looney-toons up in DC. Hard for me, at 74, to understand how we have come to this. Grateful that you are there, at least for now, and hopefully will continue to serve NC and us back here come 2025.
Oh, Jeff. I am going to miss you so much. How else are we going to hear exactly what goes on. Not from the media. Most of the media is like that awful tracker, I think. They just want a tornado and not just the facts. They need readers or people to tune in. So sad. I have and will continue to contribute. I live in NY. LOL
Dear Ms Walter, nice comment. You allude to the fact that the the media is made up of businesses whose product is consumers, whose attention is sold to advertisers. This fact requires frequent restatement in my mind.
Jeff Jackson is a sane voice in the midst of a House crazier than the movie Animal House. Let's get him elected and maybe NC can head back to the sane political state it once was!
We live in interesting times do we not? I love your insights into the current gamesmanship. The idea of the Democrats supporting such a retrograde Speaker seems incongruous, but they are reciprocating his surprisingly bipartisan decision to support Ukraine, an absolutely crucial policy to secure democracy and our European allies. Strange bedfellows indeed. The Democrats’ announcement of support has the benefit of taking the high ground and demonstrating how to lead responsibly, even if, perversely, it may save the MAGA cabal from itself. I also admire your deescalating gesture in defense of your colleague You are a wise and judicious person. I am proud to be supporting your efforts to be our attorney general. It stands in stark contrast to the low character of the GOP candidates for governor and Superintendent of Education. Onwards.
We're glad you're running for attorney general, though we wish you were running for president, and we are concerned about how being attorney general might, someday, get you to the Oval Office. We need a communicator like you, youth and vigor, integrity, and devotion to country - not self. My husband and I have your Jeff Jackson for Attorney General sign in our yard. We hope to have another one day that says Jeff Jackson for President! By the way, multiple neighbors, who are Republicans, stop and discuss how pleased they are with you.
Here's an idea: We all vote Democratic for every partisan office on our entire ballot. Then when President Biden wins well-deserved reelection, we expand the Supreme Court to 13 seats. The first two nominees? Kamala Harris and Merrick Garland. Now we'll need a new Vice President. I suggest Roy Cooper.
The problem with expansion is that the Democratic Party will not always be in power so we could wind up exactly where we are now. I much prefer term limits for the Supreme Court Justices. This will help rid the court of outdated decisions and outdated decision makers.
I favor Kamala Harris for AG. I think she would move the hands of justice at a speedy pace.
You need to be cloned. We need you everywhere. We can't afford to not have you anywhere. Don't even think about getting out of politics. It's no longer optional. You may be the most important element besides the Constitution.
So many voters only vote in presidential elections,(and, yes the 2024 election means so much) but the truth is that elections for Congress are far more important.
Every 2 years the entire House of Representatives is elected, and 33 Senators (1/3 of the Senate).
The House holds the power to distribute federal funds. The Senate approves all SCOTUS nominees. What Congress is responsible for is so important, its responsibilities are listed FIRST in our Constitution!
The Legislative branch of government arguably has more real impact on our lives than either the Executive or Judicial branches.
As leans Congress, so lean the appointees.
As leans Congress, so lean our laws and freedoms (or lack of.)
The midterm you miss could confound the second half of a presidential term. The midterm you vote in could do the same. We have seen this happen.
This whole business about the Speaker is a symptom of the problem in Congress. Too many career politicians. The two party system. Washington in and of itself! It's time to implement Term Limits, abolish the party system, and make people stand on a point for point platform system.
It’s flabbergasting that 45 can babble incoherently in front of real humans, without expressing any kind of policy plan based on the constitution, or what really is best for the average people of this country.
I suppose that’s the appeal; no thought required, just bringing your shopping cart of discontent and grievances, then find someone to echo your emotions. Just add an “Other” to blame for all your perceived problems.
Stir up the chaos, confuse the uninformed with nonsense and you get “Make America Germany Around 1934!” MAGA’34
What does your comment have to do with mine? I said nothing about 45. If you want to comment make you own comment and don't piggyback off someone else's.
You’re the best thing for North Carolina since sliced bread and I am so hoping you will win in November. I’ve moved out of the country now to be closer to my son but you are getting my support every month. I figure that if the loony tunes in DC don’t get you then the ones in NC don’t stand a chance. Keep up your good work Jeff.
I live in a small Republican majority county in NC. I had the distinct pleasure of hearing Mo Green (candidate for NC Superintendent) speak this past week. Our numbers doubled from the last meeting a month ago. Your name was mentioned among those attending. You have many supporters in our county who would like to know when you might be in our area so that we might meet you and hear you speak. You give much needed energy to Democrats with your honest approach and communication to let constituents know what is going on in Washington. Thanks!
A helpful way that let's you choose is to register "unaffiliated". Then when you vote in the primary, you are asked "which ballot do you want?" I can select a ballot and vote "against" a particular person who I would not like to see on the general election ballot.
I wish someone like you would run in my insanely gerrymandered NC district! [West Winston-Salem]. Really going to keep a close eye on you and Josh Stein and his insane wackadoodle opponent, a clone of a certain SC senator.
I so appreciate your candid updates and transparency, which is not what we see often from many legislators. Having to deal with the many deranged lunatics in D.C. is mind boggling. As a daughter born in NY to my immigrant Ukrainian father, I especially appreciate your support for Ukraine. I have many family members there, some of whom are fighting as we speak. You definitely have my vote for AG! You are a well qualified and ethical candidate. We in N.C. need you. If you’re in Wilmington on Saturday May 25th, please stop by at our Ukrainian festival at Waterline Brewery. We’d love to see you!

Amen!

So you want one party rule… like a communist?! Haha ima screenshot this.
NO to one party rule. The problem is we have one party and one cult. I hope that the Republican party will someday return.
I'd like to support you, but I can't, since I'm not American.
I just want to say, what you stand for, and what you express, is just the way a politician should be.
Honest and expressing your own views, but also understanding other views.
And, showing what the hidden backsides are, of being a politician.
And where the nasty "revelations" that make people hate politicians sometimes comes from.
Thanks for saving your poor colleague.

You certainly have my vote.
Thanks Congressman.
