Jeff Jackson is the only voice I’ve heard in years that gives me hope that things can actually get better. He’s a shot of penicillin for people like me who have been infected with unending political despair.

Agreed. I’ve been following his career from the beginning, and his transparency and integrity has always been soothing and helps me keep my sanity.

They will eventually target him because he is going to take attention away & expose them. But they are going to struggle attacking him because he doesn’t play the sides game. He doesn’t even name names, (we already know who they are), but we will know by who’s eventually attacking him.

Republicans already announced earlier this year they’re targeting his seat. We need to keep him in DC!

Expand full comment

Absolutely. I didn’t know him until this substack posting, but good god he has already won me over and validated the obvious, that the outrage is just for votes,

And Republican voters do mistake it for honest anger about real stuff.

I've been following him since 2019 when he was running for Senate. Wonderful person, caring, genuine, smart and resourceful. If they are targeting him already, he is a threat to their *game*.

His campaign slogan ought to be “Well of COURSE” for all the times he’s said obviously true things that feel like a revelation when he says it.

Agreed. Elevate. Restack, retweet, repost him. Donate. Follow his votes. Donate again. And if in his district, vote!!! We’ll do what it takes.

That's funny. It's exactly what I thought. A politician that talks like a real human being and doesn't sound insane.

I hope he can keep his bearings and stay that way once he has made it through a couple of election cycles.

What a great article from someone who can see both sides of the stage. This letter should appear as an op-ed column in outlets across the state.

And maybe across the nation. I live in NH and follow Jeff! My brother who lives in Charlotte, NC got me hooked...

Actually - should be posted for all the states.

Across the country, I say!

As I always say, can’t wait to vote for you for president one day. Thanks for representing NC well!

Jeff, I am one of the silent middle who votes for people not parties. Even though you are not in my district, I really enjoy your updates. So much better than the Pro Trump rants I get from my congressperson. Keep them coming.

Manufacturing rage and fear is poison and is causing gun deaths in this country. Jeff, what can we citizens of NC do to move the needle to common sense gun control? I will be voting on three issues come November: Abortion, Guns, and Climate. We have a massacre a day now and it is because of the theatre of fury by the GOP in D.C.

Don’t murder unborn babies, buy more ammo in case you need it, keep an umbrella handy: problem solved.

Don’t be a victim-lemming, it’s truly unAmerican.

Don't permit the government to regular women's bodies, enforce strict gun control to protect the public safety, and indict those who deliberately spread disininformation like Fox News, the main rage machine in this country and currently under indictment for deliberately lying about the last presidential election. Murdering actual human beings with guns is un-american. Attacking our democratic institutions is un-american. Hatred of immigrants is un-American. Unfortunately, racist violence is as American as apple pie. (Postcript, added later:) That said, decency and a yearning for social justice is also as American as apple pie and I live with the hope that our common vision for an equitable democracy that leads the world not in gun deaths but in creativity, decency and a willingness to face our true history will win in the end. The thing is, we have to fight for that reality every single day. Thanks to Jeff for showing the way.

Laughing out loud at you. You are exactly what Jeff is talking about, an outrage machine. You, personally, are what’s wrong with America today.

Expand full comment

First of all, your personal attack and mockery are both unwelcome and unhelpful. It would be more helpful if you discussed rationally which of my comments above is incorrect. Fox News was just ordered by a judge to pay out nearly 800 million dollars for consciously and deliberately spreading disinformation. Real people are dying every day from out of control gun violence. Hatred of immigrants, the very people without whom our food system collapses, is out of hand. January 6th, a real event, terminated the actual lives of public servants. The death of many Black people in America is directly linked to racism. Antisemitism is on the rise. Which of these statements can you rationally contradict with actual facts? I am happy to converse with you but I will not accept your random attack as valid.

UnAmerican is telling & legislating to others how to live their personal lives, even when it’s none of your biz or impact to you. Make your personal choices for you & let others do the same. That’s America.

The right to bodily autonomy supersedes the right of anyone else to live.

Abortion is not murder. At least make an effort to educate yourself on abortion by reading something other than forced-birth propaganda, rhetoric, and the bloody children pics they post & display. It’s all lies; the info and pics are fake, it’s not real science.

And, stop voting for people who have no business telling women & rape victims what they can do with their bodies. These old, white, Reichpublican male, Christian, boomers who haven’t a clue re female anatomy, pregnancy, or fetal growth/gestation & should not have the privilege to legislate their Christian religion & misogyny into law. “The party of small government” my ass.

I will do what I please with my body. You can call it murder all you want, no one cares about your opinion.

Well, you have MY attention WITHOUT acting like an idiot. As a matter of fact, that rational demeanor you are presenting is precisely why I read your stuff. It's so refreshing to have a calm, clear voice to hear what's going on. I don't know if we could get it from somewhere else. Thanks for not succumbing to the circus.

Keep these communications coming, Jeff, and thanks for finding the time in what I'm sure is a ferocious schedule to put them together for us. They are greatly appreciated!

At 70, I have seen politicians fool many and serve few. I have seen honest politicians though that sounds like an oxymoron. I witnessed ones that think they are in a sprint to lie, cheat, manipulate and steal from the folks they alledgedly represent. The world seems to be on fire and the good guys are losing. So, Jeff, allow me to thank you for your honesty, integrity, kindness and desire to represent us honorably. You have certainly started out great. Covid was bad…Washington politicians are abnormally diseased with no apparent inoculation. Please keep up your good work. Kind thoughts sent your way.

This is a wonderful statement of observation and praise. It is erudite, with words carefully chosen, referring to what is most disappointing in American politics and to the few who rise above it including Jeff.

Thank you for this Linda

Rep. Jackson,

Even though I’m not one of your constituents, I greatly appreciate your including me on your email mailing list so I can receive some truth from DC. My old Congressman was Rep. Hudson; after redistricting I’m now stuck with Rep. Bishop. Both of these individuals are die-hard Trump supporters who voted against certifying Joe Biden as President. I consider them both to be seditionists who, in my opinion (and I am a retired attorney who practiced public interest law for 35 years) should be barred from serving in Congress because of their actions.

I appreciate your keeping me informed with the “real deal”as to what’s going on in our Nation’s Capital.

Peace.
