Why on earth would the Dems make any significant concessions for a one year debt limit increase? It’s like paying a ransom and agreeing to come visit the kidnapper in a year.
This debt ceiling package will have great negative effect on VA health care . Republicans from NC are a dam disgrace. Why in the hell any veteran living in North Carolina votes republican blows my mind. Fred M Ellis US Navy retired.

If there are other representatives' newsletters out there that come anywhere close to the clear, rational approach you take with yours, I'd really like to hear about them. From either side of the aisle. And really, why is the whole system now designed to ensure there is only one aisle and only two sides? Why are we so hell-bent in this country on squelching third (or fourth, or ...) parties? Sorry - side rant. Keep up the good work, Jeff!
