Jeff, I commend you for creating this substack. Your posts are informative and interesting and it's great to get an "inside look" at the workings of the Senate and committees. As far as I know you are the first insider to do this and it's such a breath of fresh air. Keep up the good work!
These newsletters are amazing, and I look forward to each one. Honestly, I have no idea how I ended up on the mailing list, but I’m glad I did. I’m not a resident of North Carolina, nor am I even a republican, although I was before the MAGA movement. You’re doing some great work here representing your state.
This latest newsletter was especially good, and I just had to comment on it. The information that gets filtered through the media is often lacking, and getting context is so important.
I know I'm in the majority when I say thank you for the way you keep us informed. I for one appreciate it greatly, and it gives me hope for the future of our government and democracy.
Thank you for this, and for setting an example for a calm, logical way to convey information to your constituents. I'm just outside of your district, but I sure hope your approach becomes the norm!
I’m not a resident of your district, but just want you to know that I am extremely grateful for your presence in Washington. Thank you for your service!
Like most North Americans, it seems ludicrous that evidence of what was there, is a mystery, and breeds much suspicion towards our politicians and govt. agencies. We know much more about Mars.
China has quite a few of our balloons flying over as published. Saying differing agencies keep us from knowing about this balloon is like saying, we cannot do a simple diagnosis on you because there are too many different parts of the body with each requiring a separate medical professional.
Okay. All this makes sense, particularly the part about different agencies working in silos. I guess it takes an event such as this to re-examine how we track, detect, and administer actions in our airspace. We'll be safer for doing so.
Thanks for that super succinct summary.. The press should take note how to write like this!
Thank you for sharing factual information without a political agenda.
Very kind, thank you.

Just the facts without political spin. Refreshing!
Thank you, Jeff, for this complete and useful summary.
Second!
Thank you so much for your communication. I am not in your district but I feel you work for all North Carolinians. Keep up the great work!

Thanks again!
He's a democrat.
Yes, one of the democrats who actually stands for democratic ideals.
Haha. No wonder I like him!

Thank you, this is probably one of the best "updates" I've seen from a politician.

Not quite the analogy, but you do have to wonder if there are too many depts
Thanks for this. I’m in Idaho but I follow your reports with interest. This last one was very helpful.

Please keep up the information flow.
Yes, I would certainly hope to use something other than fighter jets and missles. Are there such things as high altitude tailhooks?! 😊
Thank you, Senator Jackson, for informing us. It’s greatly appreciated.
