As to concerns about the length of Jeff's emails: More often than not we simply cannot live our lives and make decisions based on third party Cliff Notes. People who sincerely care about the travesties unfolding in D.C. will take the extra few moments to get the full story, and thus will be more informed than those who rely on incomplete brevity. I say, let him write whatever he wishes and use the editing for grammar and similar corrections. Write On Jeff!
I will read whatever Jeff writes any length. Former GOP and now voting my conscience. It’s so good to hear someone just tell the truth. I’d vote for him if I didn’t live in PA.
Imagine if more of our elected representatives communicated with the people in this manner, imagine how much better our government would operate and how much better our country would be because of it. Thanks Jeff for showing us what a real politician looks like.
Hey because I don't donate every time isn't because I don't think you all (especially Jeff) rock, it's because I already did the monthly thing. This is exactly what I'd expect of my perfect congressman and what I really really hope I see out of my senator someday!!! (But I'm old, so hurry!)
Your emails are not too long, Jeff. Don't let your staff bully you. ;) Many of us out here want the details, and if it takes a longer email to inform us properly, go for it. Absolutely no complaints here. Thanks again for keeping us informed. I cannot express how much this is appreciated.
Tell your staff that there was a time when eloquence and profundity were the rule in public service, not the exception. Shine on, you verbose diamond. 😉
Jeff.- I love your post. And I don't think they are too long. The situation is not easily explained in a few words. I'm a big fan of Heather Cox Richardson and read her post every day. They are generally long and comprehensive but that's OK. Whatever it takes to let people know what's going on. Keep up the good work.
I don't think the e-mails are too long. I find them informative and insightful. Unlike Tweets or whatever short bursts of text are currently called, I think being informed requires an insightful writer and a thoughtful and critical reader.
Thank you! I sure am going to miss you when you leave the House! - Just for the record I gave one large donation at the start of your campaign, so I do not give every time you ask for money. Please take that into account.
Jeff, your emails are so informative and entertaining that they could be twice as long with no complaints from me.
I notice that your opponent for Attorney General, Dan (Bathroom Bill) Bishop, is using Federal Taxpayer money to send out glossy brochures showing him pointing fingers at the border, standing next to Border Patrol guys carrying M4 rifles and generally trying to look tough and somehow show he is looking out for North Carolinians best interests while visiting Texas or Arizona. He did this the previous election cycle as well. While not explicitly campaigning for the AG job, there is no mistaking the reason to mail hundreds of thousands of these brochures.
I encourage all your readers to file a complaint with the House Ethics Committee.
This is good stuff. I love hearing about the behind-the-scene congressional shenanigans and the real game going on behind the one covered by the media. And the letter is not too long.

Don't listen to your staff and shorten these updates. This sort of transparency is what we need a HELL of a lot more of.
Thanks and carry on my man.

For once someone is telling us truth. Thank you, Mr. jackson. Write as long as you want to. I’ll read it!

Is it possible to subscribe separately to the long emails with footnotes? Just asking.
Love the team “photo”. You guys rock.
