I am in Colorado and am devoting my time and resources here, but I wanted to jump in and just commend you on being an absolutely EXCEPTIONAL communicator. You tell it straight, you tell it compellingly, and you make it clear why these things matter. I am really impressed. :)
Jeff, I contribute monthly but that is not the point. I have been canvassing for months in Craven County. The people I talk to know who is running for President, Vice President and Governor. Since you are a favorite of mine, I ask: have you heard of Jeff Jackson? The answer is overwhelmingly, No...about you and anyone else down the ballot. A few older folks, who DO vote, said. "I don't see any of the candidates on TV! I don't know who they are!" So...you are 100% right...you need TV! (And canvassers!) I wish the party would hire canvassers...we just can't get enough folks to do it. Pam Michel
There are many voters who vote on the party line. No need to know who is in the down ballot. Even if TV ads proclaim your candidacy, what are you going to say, "I am good, vote for me"? No, you are going to blast your opponent. It is the same story on the other side too. He is going to blast you. It becomes luck of the draw unless you have earned a good name through your work.
I'm an independent that is completely turned off by hearing a candidate tell me everything that is wrong with his opponent. Let some PAC do that. Candidates need to communicate who they are and why the people should vote for them.
Elections are tribal now. Elections are not for the benefit of individual districts. Elections are for the party. Never understand how California values, decisions, are good for NC. But as goes Calif, rest of country eventually gets in line
Is another option for the Dem ticket to advertise together and spread the costs? There are 4 NC R crazies running - Gov, AG, NC supreme court and Super of Ed. If Ds can tie them all together that should sink the entire R ticket.
I don't think this works for campaign finance rules. Each candidate is their own entity. I think they can only share costs if they're on the same ticket. Otherwise, many candidates would've been doing that already.
Honesty, candor, and respect for the voter/donor. Something must be wrong with you, Jeff! But I just donated again anyway; more than any previous donation. Here's to earning the Wheel of Fortune vote!
when was the last time you were at a campaign event with Harris, on stage? Former AG endorsing you for AG, seems like a natural fit, would get a ton of attention, and is as close to free as you could get.
Jeff, from hundreds of hours of door to door canvassing (sadly, not in your state) I can vouch for the truth of your statement "the numbers show that my opponent and I do not exist to the majority of voters in the state. Well over half of them don’t know my name or his." It's the absolute truth. Candidates I've canvassed for struggle with how to answer voters' questions on complicated issues or manufactured controversies generated by the opposition. But at the door, voters usually have no idea who's running or what that office even does. Crazy, but it's the real situation.
I'm giving small but regular donations on Act Blue. We need you, friend, and I will keep encouraging others to vote and donate as well. May God continue to grant you the strength for the days to come!
You’re the only state candidate I donate to monthly & I push & promote you all the time, in & outside of NC. I hope it’s making a difference. We need candidates like you to win & get these right wing whacks like Dan out of our politics!
Jeff ,When you run your commercials ,stay positive! Tell me about you and what you are going to do. I think everyone is sick and tired of negative commercials. First of all if I like that other person ( which I do NOT) if you are tearing them down , then I am turning you off. So you have to tell the people who are, what you stand for and what you are going to do for all of NC and hope they sit and listen for a minute and then go check you out. They will like what they see!
Jeez. If the only way to get elected is to appeal to people watching Wheel of Fortune, perhaps this country isn't worth saving. OK, I really didn't mean that -- just had to vent. Now I feel better! This country certainly is worth saving and that is what we are going to work for through election day! I give monthly to Jeff's campaign. Threw in some more to help him get an ad placed. As far as what to say in the ad? Yeah, this:
"I served with the army in Afghanistan and am currently a Major in the National Guard". Yes. Of course. Also say you've been a prosecutor.
And this:
"My opponent wrote the infamous “bathroom bill” that nuked our state’s business climate for a year until it was repealed, says he wants to “smash the F.B.I. into a million pieces,” voted to overturn the last election, invested in a website that’s basically a safe haven for white supremacists, is deeply opposed to reproductive rights for women, and he’s running for Attorney General even though he’s never prosecuted a single case".
By "commercials", I hope you mean streaming services like Tubi, YouTube, game apps, Facebook (with much trepidation!), etc, not just broadcast TV stations.
Pitch - protect individuals and families from exploitation like online scammers, businesses who hire day laborers then don't pay them, price gougers, human traffickers and immigrant smugglers, abusive foster care parents, federal grantees who use grant money deceptively (like the Robinsons!), etc.
I will be SO relived when this election cycle is over. These political donations are a burden when added to the recurring support I give my favored charities.
Jeff, I’m an avid reader of your updates. I’m never disappointed. I was heartened this evening to see your first (at least for me) political ad on TV on the Outer Banks. You’re fighting the good fight!

Thanks for your canvassing work. At scale, it really can make a difference. I know it's hard, but it's sincerely appreciated.

Hi Richard. I asked the state Dems to include JJ in their mails. They're all Josh, who's well known and well ahead. Maybe you have contacts there?

Ooo!!! I love this!!! Especially since she has been AG before 💙💙💙
"By definition, you are the exception. Most people simply would not do the thing you are doing right now."
I don't know why, but this made me literally laugh out loud.
Everything after that is a bit bleak and depressing, but I'll take the laugh while it's there.
I'm not sure how to stretch my political donation dollars any further, but I'll try.
I laughed at that phrase as well. Wish we weren't the exception.
Jeff, why doesn’t Josh Stein link you to his ads?
Brunswick county doesn’t know you exist.
Keep up the fight, and get the party to endorse you.

Exactly. Nobody wants to hear a negative political ad. It's trite and annoying.

I agree. So many Gen Z and Millennials don't watch regular TV anymore.
Well, these emails work: I just gave again. Good luck.
