One of the clearest, non-egotistical messages from the Hill ever. If only we were in your district...

Wish you well -- hope you can help return negotiation, compromise and civility to the House.

Jeff: best wishes in your new elected role. Make us proud here in NC and please don’t forget to push bipartisan efforts on Capital Hill. They are so important to the health of our very special democracy. You’re leading now and as a former military officer you know how important that is. It all starts with you and your other colleagues in Congress. Also, thank you so much for this wonderful email giving us a very insightful view into the inner workings of a freshman representative to Congress. It was fascinating and few of our officials take the time to reach out like this. It’s very effective because it’s truly personal. I wish you the very best of luck in getting your requested appointments and settling into the new role. And finally, and most importantly, thank you deeply for your military and now political service. More than even bipartisanship, service is the most important thing in our democracy and I love seeing new generations of fellow citizens like you stand up, stand out and take up that baton of service. Best regards, -Scott

Thanks for this informative update. I too wish I was in your district. As to the mystery of fax requirements… you may be surprised how many other federal offices still use them. The IRS and SSA often ask for faxes. They’re still partying like it’s 1999. 😁 Good luck in your new job!!

I love your expose’s of Behind the Scenes Congress and your genuine effort to be as transparent as possible! Please advise freshman Congresswoman Foushee to do the same! In fact, please school all of the 14 NC Representatives to follow your example!

Jeff, I really appreciate your updates. You're the absolute best at letting constituents know what is going on in Congress.

Go get 'em, Jeff! I only wish we had a representative of your caliber here in the 7th district.

One of the smartest things I have seen a freshman congressman do. It was like you were writing to me as your grandmother and taking me on your journey. I found it personal and interesting. Had no idea who you were but clearly do now. Thank you, Congressman.

Although this promises to be an entertaining year with the irrelevant S**t show the Republicans are forecasting with investigations that are old and that have no effect on relevant policy that affect the county. I am sure few bills will be passed, but I look forward to having an insider view of what is going on thru your newsy substact. Should be fun. Thank you (or whomever) for thinking of this.

You've already given us more information into being a Congressional representative than our own representatives in WNC have in the over 20 years we've lived here. Your insight is valuable and educational. We look forward to when we can vote for you as NC Senator!! Hopefully in the not-to-ly.distant future! All the best to you and your family.

Can't wait to hear your take on the Speaker vote. Historic and chaotic.

Thank you, Jeff, for your transparency. This will be a great civics lesson for all of us. Looking forward to you being in the Senate some day (or, hopefully, a higher position)!
