I agree. And I would add how especially nice it was to see that the Honorable Representative announced, before you see the picture, that it is both from his imagination AND it is AI generated! Keep up the great work Mr. Jefferson (with a very kind response to someone who was doing his best!)
Jeff, I just want you to know how much I appreciate your regular emails about the doings in Congress. Always very clear and very interesting. Although I'm not in your district I appreciate the updates. You have real name recognition and I have shared these with friends who have also subscribed. Your emails have valuable information and I also appreciate that at this point you are not asking for $$$ as many other folks across the country are doing!! Judith
Jeff, even 40 years ago Charlotte was larger than Greensboro to the north and Greenville-Spartanburg to the south. So, I still don't understand how Charlotte came to be without a weather radar, particularly now with Charlotte's airport having become one of the 10 busiest in the country.
Thank you for working on this. Being a member of Congress is pretty much a thankless task, I'm sure.
As usual, your newsletter is interesting, informative and rational, and I sincerely appreciate that.
Question: Someone through the Veteran’s Administration was helping my husband fill in his military records from the Viet Nam war, mid-to-late 60’s, which apparently had gaping holes because of what his mission was. He died on March 5th, and I would like to continue because it was so important to him. His mission was under Philco 40 (?) and he was air-dropped into Laos to gain info on enemy forces there. When not involved in a mission, he either was free in Thailand, or was taken to places in Viet Nam where he served as needed, but the military there didn’t know where he’d come from or why, or when he might be picked up and disappear again. Ergo the strange empty spots in his records. Apparently someone took a special interest just because it was so odd to see such records. I don’t want that interest to stop because of his death.
What’s the chance of creating a rule that requires that No Congressional legislators may receive funds from the treasury during any government shutdown? I’d even support a post-shutdown financial penalty for those who voted for it.
I see a few comments wishing you were their congressman. I actually have a darn good congressman these days, as my district was redrawn as a safe Dem district two cycles ago.
So I wish you were my sister's congressman. Her current congressman is the execrable Chip Roy. I'm sure she'd settle for Jack Jefferson, Jefferson Smith, Wayland Smithers or just about anyone else too.
Thanks once again Jeff for a 'real' and realtime update.
It's really a shame though that we do not have a true representative government - and representatives more interested in making a name for themselves than representing their constituents.
I very much appreciate you demonstrating your values there - and sharing these frank insights with us.
Another great update Jeff! Wish I lived in your district so I could vote for you. Unfortunately, my Congressional District is the wacko Freedumb Caucus member, Mr Bathroom Bill.
Wish we had more Jack Jeffersons/Jeff Jacksons/Thoughtful Representatives in Congress. Keep it up, Congressman, and try to bring your colleagues along. Thanks for what you do.
Appreciate the update and the honest analysis of the reasons for the inevitable shutdown. As a former USG employee who has been through many shutdowns, all I can say is that they hurt employee morale (already low because of TFG), reduce productivity, adversely affect people trying to access some government services, and cost money adding to the deficit that the wingers say they care about but really don’t. Agencies that are trying to fix their budgets for the fiscal year can’t do it because their funding is uncertain. There are too many negative consequences to list. Suffice to say that this is a disgrace--and all for a publicity stunt.
I’ve been anticipating an update, and you always deliver 👍🏻👍🏻 Thank you so much for letting us know what’s going on in language we can understand-I appreciate you much! 💗
Thank you so much for being a serious member of Congress and for looking after us
I didn’t think there was a way for these newsletters to get better. But the A.I. images have just taken it to new heights. Well done.

Jack Jefferson you are the best !! 😜
If only our other Representatives had 10% of your character

Sure, Margaret. Someone from my office will give you a call. We’ll try to help.
Margaret, I want to express appreciation for your husband's service during a very controversial time. Good luck with the records.

You do an excellent newsletter (not a constituent)

Can't wait to vote for him for President!
I love your description of your (non)Representative! 🤣🤩
Ugh!

Thanx as always for the backstory and clarity.
